Yep, that's true! Different strokes!

You won't mind if we poke good natured fun at you, though?! I used a
PPC for a year, and got unmerciful teasing about it. I eventually
returned to PalmOS in the form of a Treo 180, and have owned every
(PalmOS) Treo since then. In some ways I think the inner geek in all of
us really would like to throw ourselves into a Windows Mobile machine
now to see what it's like, and the one you got is typically rated the
very best, followed closely (or occasionally edged out) by the Treo 750.
We get to live vicariously through you, so I, at least, would like to
hear your perspective and experience. If it's bad, we can all be a bit
more smug. If it's good, try not to taunt us too much!!

One note of perspective on the WInMob Treos: The 700w was a disaster.
The 700wx came out so quickly for just that reason, and it addressed
many problems of the 700w. The 750 builds on that and the stability
problems of the 700w just aren't there. Now, that's not to say that the
750 (or the Cingular box, for that matter) won't have problems. They
will. So does my 700p, sometimes.

It's a matter of what level of problems one is willing to put up with
for what level of function. Windows Mobile makes some things easy that
PalmOS makes difficult (or impossible). The 8525's specs are very
impressive, and if you need the things that it will do that the Treo
won't, then it's worth considering.

Cheers,

Don

Different stroke for different folks. I don't care about one handed use.
For me its not that much more difficult. The crash issue is easily taken
care of with a freeware task manager.

If Palm came out with a new OS I would have gone with that but with the
pricetag, I felt I got more for my money with the 8525. The salesman at
the store had a Treo 750 and recommended against it, said the 750 was a
lot more buggy.

See, that is where I have an issue. One-handed use is pretty important
for me. Plus, I have heard WinMob crashes a lot. My Palm (knock on wood)
does not crash.

I don't get my email sent to me because I am almost always near a
computer where I can get it.

I am really hoping the deal Palm made to purchase Garnett causes them
to, finally, upgrade the OS so we can stop hearing how great Microsoft's
version is vs. Palm's. Microsoft would love nothing more than to be a
monopoly on the handheld market as they are on the desktop
(effectively).
