Anyone have > any experience with OperaMini so far? I tried it. It downloads data faster, because it uses a proxy that compresses things for you, and no, you cannot change this, it's hard-coded into the program. So far as I could tell, that's the only benefit. It may display things better. I found the program itself to be much slower than Blazer, which I blame on it being written in Java. Whether because the code is being interpreted at run time or because it needs to access the massive JRE libraries to do anything (or both!), I do not know. I also found its UI to be poorly designed, common tasks are difficult to do because they're hidden behind layers of menu commands, and I found it to be not possible to organize my bookmarks beyond adding and deleting them. It requires a larger investment in time and effort to really use than I'm willing to give it. -- Jeffrey Kaplan www.gordol.org The from userid is killfiled Send personal mail to gordol Peter's Top 100 Things I'd Do If I Ever Became An Evil Overlord, #164.
