The keyboard is far better integrated on the newer Treos than was the case in the "old days" of the 270 and the 300, and most 3rd party apps have bought in to the Treo default behavior for scrolling down, sideways, selecting things, etc. It's not perfect, but it's much better. However, whenever I find myself getting TOO smug about that, all I have to do is go to the Hotsync log on my 700p and then try to use the keyboard to leave that screen. The Done button is highlighted in blue like all active buttons should be, but I can press the center button all day long and it'll just sit there looking at me. A little thing that Palm obviously missed (on the 700p, the 650 and the 600; I wonder if this is still true on the 680??), but a good enough example of the still-lingering truth that PalmOS was originally designed as a pen-based OS, not a keyboard-based OS.
Still, on balance the keyboard is better, for me. I used Graffiti Anywhere. But echoing previous emailers, I don't use the Graffiti anymore. The keyboard is more convenient/faster and apps that don't support it are a pain.
