Well I think compared to you guys I've not used Palm at all.

Palm III was the first, bought in 1996. It was a gr8 device. I had lots of
data, contact nos. Once on changing the battery, lost all my data. I had
never backed the data at all. Big loss. Still managed, re-entered data.

Sony CLIE PEG-S300. Good device, but I feel Palm was better. Different
drivers and stuff. Did regular backups. Truesync was a gr8 software. It
allowed to sync outlook, Palm Desktop and Palm Handheld. Bought this in Jan
1998/9, don't remember and was furious with Sony as they came out with
colour model in Feb.

Tungsten C - bought in Jan 2004. Happy to be back with Palm. Very nice
device. Had it for a year and returned as "c" could not be pressed well. Did
not take a replacement. Then was using Nokia communicator 9500. Very good
phone. No vibrator. It not sync well with outlook. It screwed up my contacts
which doubled to 8000. I'm still feeling the pain.

Treo 680 - bought in Feb 2007. Going good, very happy.

Missing certain features which I enjoyed on Nokia communicator 9500 like
schedule a sms with date and time, set call alert where on reminder it shows
the no to dial - so simply hit the green button and u're dialing the no. It
had FScaller - Full Screen caller. When someone calls, photos of the caller
with other details like the company, name, email work phone, notes, whatever
you select is displayed.

One could send/forward a sms to more than 10 people as compared to
restriction on treo 680.

There was no limitation of no. of contact nos. of a person. I had added the
marketing calls to a name caller block up to 125 nos.

One can enter a different name for the contact no. like Factory.

No limitation on the Categories.

If someone is aware of any of the above feature available on treo 680 do let
me know the program and the link also would be appreciated.

Yes, I get 'em all! Never had a Tungsten W or C. Didn't have all the
Clies from Sony. Haven't gotten any of the new PDA-only machines since
the Treo (no TE or TX; no Lifedrive). Other than that I had nearly all
of them.

The Treo IX is my name for the Linux (hence IX) based (PalmIX) new Treo
that's supposed to be out later this year. I think that would be a
great name for it, but I have no idea what it'll really be called.

Treo IX rules!!

OK, maybe I'd better get a 755p first, if they do one for Verizon . . .

Cheers,
Don

Chocolate cake?

Lessee . . . I don't recall some of the older dates (except the first
one), (man, you're good!), but

August, 1996 - Pilot 1000

Then - Palmpilot Professional

And: Palm V

And then - Workpad c3 (which was a jet black Vx with an IBM logo)

And a brief time with: Palm VIIx

Color!: Palm M505

<brief, mostly painful trip to the dark side with a couple of iPaqs>

February, 2002 - Sony Clie 615

May, 2002 - Treo 180 (returned it)

June, 2002 - Treo 270

October 2002 - Tungsten T

July, 2003 - Tungsten T2

September, 2003 - Tungsten T3

July 2004 - Treo 600

February 2005 - Treo 650

June 2006 - Treo 700p

(holy sh*t!! I do buy too many of these things!!)

And now?

May 2007, if it's for Verizon: Treo 755p

Christmas 2007: Treo IX???

I can't imagine how I got anything done before I had a Pilot/Palm/Treo
with me all the time!

Cheers,

Don

Mmm...dessert...

So here's my Palm OS device ownership history, as best as I can recall:
May 1996 - USR Pilot 5000
Oct 1996 - 1MB Upgrade (woot!)
Late 1997 - 3Com PalmPilot Pro (still have it :-)
Early 1999 - Palm IIIx
Early 2000 - HandEra 330
2001 - Kyocera 7135
2002 - Treo 180
2003 - Treo 270
2004 - Treo 600
2005 - Treo 650
2006 - Treo 700p
2007 - ???

It's been quite a ride...and I'm looking forward to the _next_ decade.
