Thanks, again Craig . I plan to get the $30 version. Also, I found a 1 gig thumb drive there (for $0, after rebate) which I'm going to get for my wife.
Real quick:-- I know I could search the threads but I figure I'd just ask--what is the most effective format to use when reformating the SD cards for Treo? This, I think, is another advantage to have the card reader, correct? You can reformat it for optimum transfer rates? Secondly what software is used to best test the speed and what is the process. Thanks! To everyone who has posted a variant of the oft-asked question "how do > i move my files to/from my Treo's SD card from/to my PC," I have a > suggestion: For $20, you can get a nice new 2GB Kingston SD card > *and* USB SD reader here: > http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=5099505 > > Alternately, get a USB SD reader by itself for a measly $8: > http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=2853704 > > Or, if you're concerned about future compatibility, for $30, here's a > 1GB SanDisk card with USB reader, but this reader is also compatible > with SDHC cards (neither of the above readers are, I don't think): > http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=4975817 > > Or, you can go the software route and use your Treo as a card reader, > but (a) it's slower (i.e., transfers take longer) than a dedicated > piece of hardware, and (b) you can't easily loan someone your reader > if you need to (unless you're OK giving up your Treo). >
