>> In reading this thread I began looking at the ALT key on my 650. The ALT key brings up characters only on certain keys, but there does seem to be a method to the madness. For example, if you want the percent sign on a 65o, you hit "P" then ALT. The % sign is in the "P" list. It makes sense because percent begins with P. The "P" list also has the paragraph symbol, which, coincidentally enough, begins with "P" also. I checked all the keys, and it seems to be the pattern that Palm was after. I never had noticed it before, but now that I know, it will come in handy. <<
What several of you seem to be missing is that the information you are looking for is readily available. First off, it's in your Treo manual: In my 650 User Guide, it's on pages 26-27 in the section Using the Keyboard under Learning the Basics. I'm sure the other manuals have something similar. Furthermore, it's available right on your Treo. Bring up a memo in the Memo application and press Menu -> Edit -> Keyboard Help (or simply Menu -> G). (I'm sure it's similar on the other Treo models. It certainly was on my Treo 90.) Stratton
