When changing device, you're best off acting as though you were doing a hard reset and selective restore on your old one. So rename your backup folder and then sync the new device - choose the old sync name so that you'll get your PIM data back. Then install your apps one at a time to make sure they run on the new device and that you don't sync leftover junk from the old device.
