Hi Folks,

Sorry to be so late with a reply to this. We don't monitor this group,
and one of our Comet users pointed us over here to maybe answer some
questions and clear up any confusion.

Comet currently does not require DayNotez in order to make call notes.
In earlier releases of Comet we only really had the desktop sync part.
We had to include a "Stub" application on the phone itself in order
for our conduit to be invoked (we didn't want to hi-jack the phone
application for this just in case Palm ever needed to use it). Since
we had to provide a small stub anyway, we added a simple ability to
it. If you clicked on the stub in Launcher, and you had DayNotez
installed, it would start a new DayNotez journal entry for the last
call posted in the call history file.

With Comet 2, that's all changed. We have a very functional Comet Palm
application now instead of the stub. It has the ability for you to
create notes on calls directly within it. OR, if you are a DayNotez
user and like to keep all of your journal type entries within it,
Comet has the option to post to DayNotez instead. Comet lets you make
notes not only for the last call, but any call posted in the call
history file. If you are in the middle of a call and bring up Comet
(yes, this is probably best done with a headset unless you have eyes
in your ears ;-) ) then you can even create a note for the call you
are currently on.

If you choose to use DayNotez as your place to keep notes, then
DayNotez even has the special ability to automatically create a
"Comet" note based on a user defined "Comet" template.

Comet currently does not have the ability to post call history and
notes to the calendar, but it is something we are seriously considering.

Comet is first and foremost a Call History logger (with call
statistics on the handheld). It does not have additional features such
as ringtone management, etc. One of the main advantages of using Comet
with Comet desktop is the ability to archive old call history off of
your phone so that it doesn't get so "big". You can set the automatic
archive horizon based on number of entries, age, or all each time you
sync (or none for that matter). You can easily add calls from the
history to your contacts, and have Comet update all those past calls
with the proper caller name. Comet also has the ability to "schedule"
calls by providing a "tickle" alarm informing you of a call you need
to make at a future time and staging it up for easy dialing for you.
You can even delete entries from your call history file easily. I
guess I could go on and on, but I shouldn't. If you are intested, try
out the free trial.

Like I mentioned, we normally don't monitor the yahoo groups. We do
have a user forum on our site where you can get question and problems
answers. You need to register on the forums (no anonymous posting but
you can lurk w/o signing up) but we don't care if you are a customer
or just have questions while you try out the software. Feel free to
drop by. Or send us questions at support[at]natara.com.

Hope that helps clear up some questions. Sorry, I don't know much
about lightwav or any of the other apps you may have mentioned so I
have no comparisons.

Regards,
