I use Pocket Tunes v4.0.2 Deluxe -- NOT the built-in version of P-tunes.
I currently own a Treo680, but the following also was true for my Treo6540.)
I don't play music, but I do play podcasts. That's shorthand for I
haven't messed much with playlists, but I'm guessing the Treo doesn't
know the difference between one .mp3 and another.
I have my podcasts stored by groups in subfolders -- e.g. Speaking
of Faith, On the Media, etc.-- and when I select Menu|Actions|Open and
then select All Content -- it finds all .mp3 on my SD.
And when I select Manage Playlists, it finds all the .mp3 files and
allows me to select multiple cuts to create a playlist.
So I'm guessing that if you create a playlist -- Menu|Actions|Manage
Playlists, then select New, and Select All, the randomize feature should
work as it would on a playlist that only had one album.
