OK, but I'm in Colorado!! Bill was probably thinking a bit farther west.... That's where it broke down for me, but I get it now that you explained it (except for the whole Colorado/Utah thingy).
Nobody has raised the really important question: "Why on earth, Don, would you, an 11-year Palm user, and especially after your brief and tortured experience with Pocket PC a couple of years ago, even consider another platform, especially now that you have the 755p which is by far the best Treo ever made?" The answer would have to be, really, "I dunno? Maybe I'm bored? Maybe because the sales girl at the T-Mobile store is cute?" Or maybe: "Because as an I/T consultant I'm technologically masochistic and like experimenting on myself with new technology?" Probably not going to happen, but I see the Blackberry's evolution as a much bigger threat to Palm that WinMob or Apple. Alli: Don't you think "just trying out" a Pearl would be a little like cheating on your spouse/significant other? Bill: The LDS is big out there; there's no reason he can't have both. Craig: To summarize, I think that your typical user would be satisfied by the Pearl, but power users would find it limiting. So, Don, which of those do you fancy yourself? Colin: He's lusted after it in his mind. It's as bad as buying it (so say some). Don: Difficult . . . to resist . . . temptation!! Alli <eye roll> J Messeder: But the thought of a power-LDSer -- now there's something to contemplate. Don: Sorry to be dense, but what's a "power LDS-er"?? J Messeder: I was just combining something Alli said with something Colin said with something Bill said. The other Don: someone who has programmed a speed dial directly to Salt Lake Alli:I'm trying to come up with what LDS could mean, but with every attempt my mind falls ... OK, That's all the hints you get.
