I have had trouble with being cut off when I called support recently - but fortunately rarely need support.
On the positive side when Palm released the first 700 P ROM Update that put the 700P into endless loop the Sprint manager from Olympia WA agreed to bring a new phone out to me - about 60 miles - Also I used to be with Verizon - so when contract expired I signed up for both a Verizon Treo 700P and Sprint Treo 700P [the same evening - telling them both that I would test the coverage, data, and voice quality side by side - I know they share some of the same towers but there was a considerable difference. I now get coverage with Sprint where it was not possible before with Verizon I compared the Verizon to Sprint for ten days - Olympia, WA, the coastal area toward Aberdeen, Some parts of Seattle, Bremerton to Shelton, I 90 to Spokane and to CDA Idaho. In most cases coverage was better with Sprint using those two phones as a limited experiment. There are rare times when the Verizon coverage is better. - When I was with Verizon - yes they had good customer support - it's just their unlimited data plan is $45 compared to $15 for sprint.
