Weird? No.

Dishonest and unethical, yes.

Concerned about the amount of data a Treo user consumes, they created an 
artificial difference so they could jack up the price.

I was on the cheaper plan, which I signed up for years ago.  They tried 
several times to get me to switch to the more expensive plan.  When I 
wouldn't, they took me off that plan without my knowledge or consent and 
put me on a very limited data plan with huge charges for overages.  You can 
bet I was plenty pissed when I got a bill for over $3500.

If my economic situation hadn't changed drastically at that time, I would 
have dropped them like the molten, malodorous, radioactive,  toxic potato 
they are.  Since I had that economic downturn, I'll have to wait a few more 
months before I kick those thieving bastards to the curb.
