I have found out that if I go into the back of my office building for
any length of time my Treo 700P becomes warm! I have very poor cell
phone reception in this part of the building. It is a block building
with a metal roof.

One of the features of a cell phone is the power conservation. If
there is a strong signal the output power is reduced to save battery
power. Of course if the signal is weak the transmitter is turned up
to full power.

If the phone is in a weak signal area for a long time period of course
you will see a shorter battery life. I had noticed this with another
phone but had not given it much thought until I found my Treo warm!
