OK, thanks Craig and Bill,

I had LudusP assigned to the other hard buttons as well as the send and phone. 
Setting the other buttons to none fixed the/my problem.

I just discovered the backspace button hangs up the call and "M" key toggles 
mute, allowing you to assign the power key to another app.

I wonder if there is a way turn off the phone if the Power button is assigned 
to another app?

 I'm running LudusP on a 700p and don't have this problem.  In fact,
 I've been running LudusP for all but the first 2 days I've had my 700p
 and have never had this problem.  Perhaps a different app/hack is
 causing your issue?
