Hotsync with the previous version o Ubuntu was problematic. I had to 
try all sorts of deep magic and all I got were inconsistent results.

All that changed with 7.04. All I had to do to sync was the following:
01. Add the Pilot applet to the Gnome task bar.
02. Left click on the resulting icon to get gnome-pilot settings.
03. Add a new PDA and choose "Get from PDA", to retrieve settings from 
my Treo.
04. Sync, without a problem, every time.

You'll probably want to adjust the Conduit settings, but you need to 
make sure you have good and frequent backups. Evolution messed a lot of 
my contacts up.

Let me know if that works.
