Interesting discussion following on the heels of an incident yesterday where.... One of my assistant principals turned to me at bus duty yesterday afternoon and said "lemme see your Treo, I know you have it with you." I handed it to him and he put it up to his ear and handed it back. He then explained that he'd read an article comparing "smartphones" and the iPhone and that the Treo had received a B+ rating (higher than the iPhone) but was marked down because of size. He wanted to see for himself and decided that it wasn't as big or as heavy as the report had made it out to be and was quick to add that the (older) Blackberry was *much* bigger/heavier.
On that note, I teach high school. I use my Treo for everything. If the computer network is down, I can still record attendance (and have access to my rolls), check email, message other faculty/staff members, etc. I can also use Pdanet to put my school computer online and get to all the websites the stupid [expletive deleted] school systems blocks that contain nothing but educational material. I take photos at PTO meetings to put on the school website - we don't need multi megapixel photos for that, so the 700p's camera is fine. Calendar, contacts, the whole bit.
