Chris, As best as I recall, the update for the 700p addresses issues with things like crashes during text messaging and slowness of the web browser. The update was initially issued a few months ago, but resulted in connectivity issues for a lot of users, so Palm and/or Verizon pulled it, fixed it, and have just now re-issued it.
