True, true. I'm in not a Microsoft hater - far from it, since I use a dozen of their products and make my living helping others do the same! I don't find WinCE/PPC/WinMob evil or anything - just very very inefficient! I do use the calendar a great deal, and the inefficiency of the WinMob data entry model makes me grind my teeth every time.
That said, it would be intriguing to go through the process of converting over the Windows Mobile now. I went from a Clie to a Compaq PPC and then came back to a Treo after about a year because I couldn't stand PPC. It'd be interesting to really use WinMob 6 (your device is 5, I believe) and see what it's like! I think you are syncing your 700wx with Sherweb's hosted Exchange service - if you are in a different time zone from the server, have you noticed any issues with time zone settings? In my case, with 1&1's server being in Eastern and me being in Mountain, all of the calendar entries created in Outlook and sync'd to the Treo show up in the right slot, but with an annoying suffix added telling me what time the appointment *would* be in Eastern time. I have to change the time zone for each one to resolve this. It's a well documented problem with no solution I've come across. Wondering if it plagues WinMob as well? Consume you it will!!! Yes, I thought of analogies to The Dark Side. Then again, I've been with MS on the PC side for 17 years! >Take a look at how many steps it takes you to change or add a word >toward the end of a longish calendar entry, and you'll see my primary >objection to WM. I don't tend to creat calendar entries on the Palm partially because we keep calendars in Google Calendar and so far haven't seen a good way to synch from Outlook to Google Calendar... >Sounds like Exchange Activesync works better -- giving you multiple >folders and also task sync, where Versamail only gives the Inbox and >doesn't sync tasks. That's nice. Yep! >Can you give us an update on Sherweb at some point? I'm looking. Personally I don't care what country a company is from as long as their reputation is good and/or they provide good products/services. As far as Sherweb, it's still been flawless, but I also haven't done anything weird with it, just your normal exchange stuff. Outlook Web Access 2007 is definitely a nice improvement over 2003, but it still has things that you can't really do (or do easily) unless you are at the full Outlook client. Levi Yahoo!
