I just exchanged my 700p for the same issue.  They gave me (with insurance) the 
755p which is basically the same phone.  They didn't mention the Centro.

 Now I DO remember the 700wx (the update to the 700w) being introduced
 on Sprint after the buggy 700w was on Verizon for a few months. The wx
 didn't come to Verizon for a while after.
 
 Speaking of which - my Treo has become unusable (IMO) because of the
 speaker jack issue and the software is not helping. A friend of mine
 who used to work for Palm said that existing users can get a Centro
 for $99. Anyone have that experience - it seemed to me from all I
 heard was that the Centro's deal price was only if you add a new line.
