Are you talking about the PAM (Phone as Modem) plans? I don't have one of 
those, but I hear you can get around having to pay for a PAM plan with programs 
like PDAnet. I don't have much use for such a service myself though. My laptop 
has built in wireless, and I am in an area were there is EVDO everywhere.
