therels major problem with the desktop software. All data does not sync with
handheld. It syncs only 5 fields. It syncs birthdates & not anniversaries.
Photos did not get updated unless changes made to that contact.

I think we're pretty much in sync. I would not upgrade an existing
machine to Vista (although I did upgrade a four year old machine of mine
with no problems, just to see what would happen), and I would not buy a
new machine with XP. If I were running Windows 2000, I'd buy a new
machine before lunch!

The Vista 'Beta' desktop seems to be very stable, and has a nice new UI.
It still doesn't have everything the Desktop is supposed to have, which
I find nearly inexcusable on Palm's part. Then again I don't use the
Desktop, so I guess I don't really care!

Cheers,
Don

Hello, Don Ferguson.

I conditionally disagree. Some things in Vista are better than XP, but
some things are not.

My advice to people is that if they're currently running 2K or XP Pro,
don't upgrade to Vista, it's not worth it. Maybe revisit that option
after Vista SP1 is released, and in no case upgrade to anything less
than Home Premium.

If, however, you're buying a new computer, there's no reason to revert
it to XP.

My desktop is XP Pro, and I have no plans on upgrading the OS on it,
ever (XP service packs are not 'OS upgrades'). My laptop is Vista Home
Premium.
