Probably the wrong forum for this but traffic is light.
I live in New York City and travel to work by subway.
There is nothing more annoying than the rash of cheap headphones people are
using to listen to their ipods, and loud.
It is not unusual to have 2 or 3 people in hearing range playing rap, rock, and
disco.
My only recourse is to keep a store of music on my Treo (to which I listen with
isolators), but this is not great if I am trying to read or sleep.
Sometimes I muse about bringing a pair or scissors and acting the vigilante,
but that is not good citizenship and could get one killed or worse - arrested.
So, I don't think there is much that can be done except to ask folks to preach
the word - no one wants to hear your music - buy isolators and turn it down -
the eardrums you save may be your own.
