I just returned my Delorme GPS bundle. I have not been this disappointed with any product in years. Usability was poor. Most actions required the stylus and therefore two-handed operation at some point. Switching to another app to make a call, check the calendar, etc dropped the BT connection to the receiver. Coming back required a series of moves to reconnect and restart tracking for example. Inability to keep the current position centered was another peeve. Moreover, stability was bad. I lost track of how many times the program hung while drawing a map! The only way to recover was to remove the battery from my Treo. Their PC software was okay but nothing to brag about. At least The GPS Store was good about the return. Made me wonder in hind sight how many they've taken back. :|
On the plus side, Tom Tom just announced content sharing. Hopefully that marks an opening up of their platform so customers can load their own maps from scratch eventually. We'll see... Cheers, -KB
