Because I use AT&T/GSM, I can transition between devices by simply
switching SIM cards around. This isn't possible with Verizon/Sprint,
where the phone can't be used at all once the new phone is activated.

So I usually keep my old phones around just in case my current one breaks.

Also, my wife is currently using my old Treo 650 as a PDA only. I keep
trying to convince her to use it as a phone too, but she doesn't like
the form factor for carrying it around. I'm going to try to convince
her to try a Centro, though. The "carrot" I'm trying to use with her is
setting up GooSync so we can keep our calendars consistent, but it
hasn't worked so far :-( .

Any other suggestions for ways I can use to convince her?

Sam
