The headset jack is notoriously flakey on Treo's of the 680/700/750/755 form factor and even some earlier. My first 755p was so afflicted; my new replacement unit is not (so far).
If you do a web search you'll find lots on it. Basically, the manufacture involves a very cheap and flimsy solder at the contact point. One person actually offers a retrofit to antennaed Treos to put a well-soldered jack in the antenna. An alternative to jack use is getting Softick's Audio Gateway, disabling the jack, and using bluetooth headphones. Haven't heard whether this is a Centro problem. Perhaps like 10 of them. Thought it was just me. Most of the time canned air works... I have even had a tech at the store take one apart, remove the lint, and give it back to me. The problem came back in a few weeks... I usually just make the store give me new ones now when it happens (We have ESRP - a must with these Treos). ________________________________ From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Robert Robertson Sent: Sunday, May 04, 2008 10:45 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Treo] Headphone jack air blow May 4, 2008 --- message truncated ---
