None, but I get a signal fine. Everyone's entitled to their opinions, but it seems to me that yours is indicative of an impression one gets either from personal experience or from hearsay, but in either case, it's only relevant to you, right? You could say that in your part of the country, Sprint reception is terrible, or WAS terrible the last you heard, but all carriers have areas that they don't service well or at all. Verizon may have a slightly better coverage overall, but if you are in a large metro area like I do, it probably doesn't matter which carrier you use, they will all have good to excellent reception in 99% of the area, with a few occasional dead spots here and there.
The same holds true, I believe, for this impression that Windows Mobile is horrible. It really depends on what your use is for. I'm no longer a power user as they say, but I do use my phone for internet applications like email and web browsing, and this also includes syncing my contacts with an online store (hosted Exchange). Other than that, there's TCMCP for media and a Garmin navigation program for my GPS, and that's about it. I have no issues with WM, and overall my phone is about 20 times as stable as my 700p, 650, and 600 before it. WM has apparently been getting steadily better over the years (I only know it from WM 5 on my phone), and MS continues to tweak it, and Palm and other phone manufacturers like HTC continue to add their own enhancements to make it work better for phone usage. This as opposed to one company making the software and the hardware for PalmOS, and not updating the OS much for years. Yes, a new version will supposedly be out, when, next year? But I just get the sense that all the dumping on WM is from impressions that people got from WM phones they looked at 2+ years ago, or they simply saw a bad implementation of it. There are so many WM phones out there that there are bound to be some bad ones. And were these impressions also from a significant amount of time spent with the phone, or a cursory playing with? It could be that WM has a slightly higher learning curve initially, but if you eventually get to the same place, what's the difference?
