TreoCraig, Thanks for the tip. Unchekcing "include in global search" in docs to go made no diff in its behavior, but since I don't use that app anyway, I just uninstalled it.
No such pref in Google maps. You were right that running calendar first, then hitting search, gives that top priority. Doesn't seem to work that way with contacts. Still, this is an improvement, and I thank you. Mike Hodish [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
