Already do that. And it vibrates. That's the way I have it virtually all 
the time.
   I don't want it to alarm at all. In fact (Maybe this is what I should 
look for) I don't care if it doesn't even check mail between, say, 
midnight and 6 a.m. But I also don't want to have to remember to change 
the automatic/manual setting twice a day.
