Pre vs Android
I've had the Droid for two months. I never use the keyboard, because the onscreen keyboard(s) work great for me. I have installed about 50 free apps so far, and no paid apps. I love the turn by turn directions in the mapping program. The automatic linking of the GPS with google maps is especially delightful. I like the DockRunner which turns the droid into a nice clock. It is integrated with the alarm clock. I haven't purchased the dock itself yet. I just built a custom stand from a fallen cedar tree in the back woods. I make a lot of use of droid48, a hp48gx simulator for my main calculator, though I also use the RealCalc from brain-overspill.co.uk in RPN mode. I use the built-in compass on the local trails. I use Note Everything (free version), because it had a method to import my Treo 700p memos, a critical need, because that was always my long-term memory. I just couldn't wait for the promised availability of the WebOS on Verizon. I like what I've got for my $30 per month, so far.
