IIRC is more an email/internet thing than a text thing. I've been using it from 
before texting was around. Same with IMHO, BTW and FYI. 

And IIRC I learned 'YMMV' from this list!

Thus, the EXACT reason I hate web/text-speak.  Everything is becoming so 
shortened that half the readers do not know what it means.

I know I'm more particular than most people. I'm a professor that deals with 
communication, but it seems that we should be trying to communicate so that 
people can ALL understand.
