Not quite. Palm OS (now called Garnet OS) is owned by ACCESS, a foreign (Chinese?) company who purchased Garnet OS when it acquired PalmSource back in 2006 or whenever it happened. Palm has an unlimited, irrevocable (I think) license to Garnet OS (nee Palm OS), so they can use it however they like, but I don't know if that license includes disassembling and/or direct reapplication in competing products. Not that the code itself would be very useful to webOS engineers. I did notice that someone has begun a project to bring the old "classic" MemoPad as a new app to webOS. I just hope someone with a mind towards simplicity and speed tackles all the major apps we PIM junkies need.
