The problem is with PICTURE MESSAGING (i.e., sending a text message with an
attached picture), not with plain text messaging. (Note: receiving picture
messages works over wi-fi, but sending does not.)

Hmmm... I sent a few text messaes this morning, and I had my wifi on. All went
through fine (and were received fine).

Unless it somehow skipped wifi and used evdo? Isn't an active wifi connection
the default if you have it turned on?

Hi George,

You have the oddest problems with your Pre!! I'm not on Verizon - stayed

with Sprint - but on this network MMS works just fine on or off wifi.

Cheers,

Don

Subject: [Treo] Pre Plus Picture Messaging does not work with Wi-Fi

Spent about an hour with VZW tech support trying to figure out why I could

not send text messages with attached pictures ("Picture Messaging") using my

VZW Pre Plus. Receiving picture messages works fine, but when I'd try to

send one I would get the error message:

<< Unable To Send Message. A network error occurred. >>

The issue remained unresolved until the capability to send picture messages

magically returned when I left the house. Long story short, when I'm in my

house using Wi-Fi, picture messaging sending fails. If I turn off Wi-Fi (or

otherwise use the EVDO network), it works.

Does anyone else notice this? Is picture messaging supposed to only work on

the data network, and not on Wi-Fi?
