Hi all,
As a long time user of Handyshopper for grocery shopping, I have been waiting for something to replace the rather awkward solution for the Pre that involved running Handyshopper under Classic. Handyshopper is still wonderful, but one risks getting one's head bitten off if one asks for it to be ported to another platform (even as PalmOS is dieing off and WebOS takes over). I've been waiting patiently for one of the shopping list programs for the Pre to become "good enough," and Shopping Manger (in its current beta form) just did. It's written with a nod to Handyshopper, and functions intuitively with that that frame of reference. The latest beta allows record importing (which is what I was waiting for) and works quite well overall. The current version in the app catalog will only import item names, but coming soon will be an update that will do what the beta will do, and then this can take over for Handyshopper completely. If you want this and won't want to go the Homebrew route (which you have to do for the beta), wait for 1.1 in the app catalog. And it costs $1.49! http://developer.palm.com/webChannel/index.php?packageid=de.vivalv.software. shoppingmanager and http://www.precentral.net/homebrew-apps/shopping-manager-beta FYI. Cheers, Don p.s. There are two kinds of people in the world: those who get how cool and efficient it is to do one's grocery shopping using Handyshopper / Shopping Manager, and those who don't. My sister picked up Handyshopper and ran with it after I showed it to her a couple of years ago. My brother and my girlfriend think my sister and I are both nuts!!
