Thank you Thank you Thank you! It worked.

Where do they have that information hidden??? I read everything in the
Classic Help on the Pre, and I read everything on the Motion Apps web site,
and nowhere did I see this mentioned. They don't even have a searchable
help/knowledgebase. :-(

Classic seems to work okay for most things, and I will mainly use it for
Pocket Quicken. I also like having all my old PIM data in there where it is
SEARCHABLE (unlike webOS).

Two gripes so far about Classic:

(1) I tried several of the demo Classic apps that come with it, and it
frequently freezes up and/or runs VERY sluggishly, slowing down the entire
Pre (not just what's running in Classic). To recover the entire Classic app
needs to be virtually "soft reset".

(2) The Classic installation and PIM data migration instructions STRONGLY
RECOMMEND that you NOT use the same Hotsync ID that you used with your old
Palm OS device. They say to create a new user account to reduce the chance
of issues. So that's what I did. But when you do this, none of your pay
apps that require registration codes will work! So I had to use the
supplied "Hotsync ID" app (thanks again Michael!) to change the hotsync name
back to what it should have been to begin with. Now all my registered apps
are happy again.

You run the "HotSync ID" application that is built into Classic.
Use that to set it to whatever you want.
