I accidentally discovered some (undocumented?) features of the calendar on the Pre. Maybe you guys already know these. In day view, if you press and hold on an existing event for a few seconds, it becomes "activated" and you can edit it in place. You can also drag it to a different time slot. Also, if you press and hold a blank time on the calendar, it opens up a new embedded event slot where you can simply type the info right there without having to go through the new event creation dialogue via the menu.
