Maybe not... I would think that it would depend on who took them over. If Apple or Google...perhaps yes...but Nokia or some other big players without an OS, who see the superiority and potential of WebOS...may just want to spend the $ to fund and further develop it.
Also, to some companies, it might be cheaper to buy Palm and WebOS and their patents rather than spend more $ developing their own new OS.
