an issue I have with Opera Mobile on my Treo Pro - whenever I go into
a text field, the virtual keyboard pops up and takes away screen
real-estate. I looked online for solutions and came across this patch
called NullKB - which added an additional virtual keyboard layout that
, when set as the default Input Method, pops up a 0-pixel input screen
- essentially rendering this functionality moot.

This solution works fine in everything but Opera - which seems to want
to reset my default input method back to the keyboard EVERY TIME I
CLICK IN AN EDITABLE TEXT FIELD. I searched high and low for a
solution and it seemed to point back to this as a "feature of Opera"

I then saw this in the official Opera blog release notes going back a
few releases:

"Some input method editors are known not to work well with Opera
because they do not comply with Microsoft's SIP and/or IME standard.
When such an editor is detected by Opera, Opera will use a known
(default) input method instead. An exception is EzInput v1.5, where
the phone keypad and compact QWERTY, ABC mode doesn't work, but the
rest of the modes work fine. We recommend upgrading to EzInput v2.0 to
avoid this."

so I ask - has anyone gotten around this annoying "feature" of Opera
Mobile - which for all other purposes is a great browser?
