will be a large, high-growth market. HP believes it can accelerate the
connected mobile device market. This market is growing at over 20%
annually. They believe they can leverage webOS to present a platform
for an integrated solution for their customers. They feel the App

Questions

Q: Why buy webOS instead of using Android

A: They believe that investing in webOS will make it more compelling and
allowing choice. They still planning on working with MS a lot too.

Q: What is the timeline to evolve webOS to run on HP hardware.

A: Transaction has to be finished before timelines.

Q: Talk about the competitive landscape…

A: Palm Pre/Pixi is in the consumer space. Tablets/Slate is a new market
for consumers, healthcare, business.

Q: Can you characterize HP at the carrier level…how do you help Palm’s
issues with that.

A: Today HP provides infrastructure for 8 of the 10 largest carriers
which will be a good foundation for all products.

Q: How do you plan on keeping Palm R&D going…will they be separate.

A: Palm will be a “business unit“…Ruby is excited to be a part of it.

Q: Apple is a content platform (as well as hardware). Do you intend to
get into that?

A: “Our focus is to create connected devices”…HP is not a content creator.

HP is planning on investing heavily in marketing, R&D in devices…very
very cool.

Alrighty y’all…that wraps it up. For those of you who went old school
with us, thanks for hanging out!
