What's free? I'm on Sprint, and last I asked, their MyFi wasn't free.
OTOH, MyTether works great, handles at least two computers
simultaneously (mine and my wife's were the only ones available, so
maybe it'll handle more), definitely devours a battery even when plugged
in Charge Only to the laptop's USB (but still gave us more than two
hours on an already partially discharged battery).
Considering that I do not really need to use it for long periods,
not bad.
