Companionlink for Google sync does not require a cable...and it works fine for
my Outlook. Two-way sync with my Pre...it all works very well.

I tried CompanionLink and, while it seems to work fine, I hated having to
connect the USB cable. Also, I found it very cumbersome to have 2-way
synchronization. To do so I had to sync on the phone, then connect the USB, and
then sync on the computer, and then, again, sync on the phone. The first was to
get updates from the phone and stage them. The second was to update the
computer with the staged updates and stage updates from the computer on the
phone. The third was to update the phone with the staged updates from the
computer.

Just too convoluted. So I found another way that allows my updates to be done
wirelessly - using google calendar, google calendar sync, and gmail (for
contacts). I wish I could sync my contacts back to my Outlook but the contact
sync program caused me serious problems on my computer and I ended up
uninstalling it.

Greetings everyone,

So, as the debate of switching to Android shifts on, I’m going to pose a

couple questions as someone who just switched to WebOS from Palm even after

having tried Android.

I’m wondering if any of you have used one of the three sync programs out

there: Mark/Space’s Missing Sync, CompanionLink’s Google Sync, or Chapura’s

PocketMirror. If so, what do you think is the best? I posted the question

to PreCentral’s forums as a Poll. I’m doing this because I’m trying to

figure out why people prefer one over the other. Right now, PocketMirror

is winning the poll I posted.

Second, have any of you tried using QuickOffice with Classic? I’m not

horribly impressed with the Docs to Go reader on the Pre and, honestly, have

never been a fan of Docs to Go anyway. I liked WordSmith best, but that’s

certainly not going to be developed more and it won’t run in Classic. If

you have, what do you think of it? How does it work. Secondly, if you

have, have you tried using FontBucket with Classic? That’s what I’m really

wanting. I have a specialized font that shows up as boxes in D2G and hope I

can read it in Quick Office with FontBucket running.

Thanks!

Michael
