You missed an excellent app that I have been using since last October. 
It`s called Switcharoo Free. Note the Free because the other version, as 
you say, relies on downloads.

The `Free` version takes pictures from any directory you specify and you 
can also specify the frequency of changes.  I think that it installs via 
PreWare if memory serves right

I have mine set to change every minute, and with more than 600  piccies 
of 320 x 480 in my wallpaper drawer/directory that`s more than 10 hours 
before I get a repeat!

How sad is that!

If anyone want 600 wallpapers then shout and I`ll zip them up and email 
them out. Some are my own creations and some have been culled from the web.
