Some of my `tweaks` went away (specifically 4 x 4 icons) unlike the previous update. Odd. So, I made sure that Palm had backed me up recently to the `cloud`, which it had, and then USBd it and copied all my data (vids, pics, music, texts, etc) to my PC hard drive. And when I went to install PreWare I got error messages. So I decided to do a full `start from factory settings` to get a full clean installation. Except that halfway through my restoration the Pre choked and then wouldn`t complete the installation. :-( Eventually I found a way to `solve` the problem. Took out not only the battery but ALSO the SIM card. Then tried to start the phone and got the `install the SIM card message`. After that it worked OK.
