Who do people say you are?

By Chamu Delight

Acts 9; 36-39 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which
by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and
alms deeds which she did. And it came to pass in those days, that she was
sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper
chamber. And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had
heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he
would not delay to come to them. Then Peter arose and went with them. When
he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows
stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas made,
while she was with them.

When I was doing my bible reading, I figure out that The measure of life is
not its duration, but its DONATION (Mashie). People remembered Dorcas as a
woman full of good works because of the contribution she did in her (sphere
of influence) She used to take good care of the widows, when she dead the
people remembered her and they couldn’t let her just die without finishing
what she had started. We remember Jesus because of his contribution to the
world. He did much at the age of 33 that other people who were old that him
didn’t achieve. Listed below are some generals who were remembered for their
contribution; what I like most is what people described them as

1. Stephen; was known as a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, full of
faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. Acts 6; 5
& 8

2. Cornelius; was known and remembered as, a just man, and one that feareth
God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from
God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of
thee. A devout man, and one that feared God with his entire house, which
gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always. Acts 10; 22 Acts 10;
2

3. David; was remembered and known as a man after God’s own heart, a
psalmist, worshiper. Acts 13; 22

4. Barnabas; was remembered and known as a man who saw the grace of God, was
glad, and exhorted other. He was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and
of faith: and much people were added unto the Lord. Acts 11; 23

So don’t give excuses that you are young because life is measured by your
contribution not your duration. Try to make a positive contribution in your
domain. So how do you want to be remembered as after you have died? Its all
about choices lets make the right choices. What a blessing to write to you
on my birthday. Many people always twist their age but for me its 22 either
way twisted or untwisted.

Word of encouragement; 2 timothy 2; 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow
righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of
a pure heart.
