I thought System C was only for simulations, and the are converters for into verilog/vhdl, but ultimately to make the bits that go into the chip, you still needed the vendor's synthesizer software.

My presumption is that the Arduino folks might make the programming of this FPGA more accessible to nonprofessionals via integration or at least how-tos to make the FPGA tool chain easier to use.
