According to the data sheet found here:

I2C is found on these pins:
SCL - 9 (MTMS)
SDA - 14 (GPIO2)
(see page 14 of the linked document).
The Technical Reference, found here:
https://www.espressif.com/sites/default/files/documentation/esp8266-technical_reference_en.pdf
indicates that for I2C, you set the pin functionality as GPIO (see page 67).
