John Wettroth (hope I spelled it right, John!) was pitching the Rigol 1054Z. As owner of an MSO2072A, I'm very high on Rigol. However I just came across this low end Keysight scope <https://www.keysight.com/en/pcx-2759552/infiniivision-1000-x-series-oscilloscopes?nid=-32110.0&cc=US&lc=eng>. Who knew that Keysight (HP a long time ago) has stooped to appealing to budget conscious 'scope users (sort of)?
Here's a very brief contrast of the base units: Keysight EDUX1002A Rigol DS1054Z Bandwidth 50MHz 50MHz Sample depth 100000 12 million (GND-MSO/DS1000Z upgrade bundle now included free!!) Max waveforms/sec 30k 50k Channels 2 4 Screen 768x480 800x480 Bus analysis $154 but no SPI! Yep (with free bundle) USB Data logging yes yes Price $459 $375 (Tequipment) As you can see, Keysight's cheapest 'scope still lives in a parallel universe. Anybody know if Keysight scopes are made in the USA? -Pete
