On a somewhat related note, Mazda is bucking the touchscreen trend for the sake
of safety after studying actual behavior with touch screens.. For a new Mazda3
they-re using HUD with the image focused as if 7 1/2 feet ahead of the car to
cut refocus time and fatigue. Also matching all knobs and buttons with respect
to
force.https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1121372_why-mazda-is-purging-touchscreens-from-its-vehiclesPete

radar-based gesture recognition It sound like the old $100 Leap devices, which
I think did not catch on b/c they can't see the backside of the hand and can't
have objects in your hand (keys, drink, finger rings, fake nails). Those also
had a SDK that did finger recognition and returned gestures to the app, but it
never worked as well as a simple mouse, ex, for scrolling a kiosk display, b/c
users did not know the limits of the 3d scanning volume to stay
within.--greggOn Sun, Jun 16, 2019 at 5:57 PM Pete Soper via TriEmbed
