If this is one of the old, black boards built with the pre-release chips you're 
out of Schlitz: it won't run current code and replacing the chip is the only 
option (a royal pain, but doable with a hot air tool.) If it's the red board, 
then never mind, that's a red herring and I suggest you send complete details 
in a TI forum msg if you can't revert to the old firmware. I've had "near 
brick" episodes w the xds110, but with a different chip family, so not 
relevant.Pete
