Speaking of, what does the group think of eventually meeting on the quad
with folding chairs if the 'State admin will allow it? Many of us have
been vaccinated for months, we have good habits, etc. A cone of some
sort could do as a sound system for the presenter. :-) Seriously,
batteries and inverters are trivial and the only issue would be the need
for rain dates. It might be a way to transition back to the lecture
hall. Must not forget bug spray, though. Not talking about June, but
perhaps July? I floated this to Seth Holler of 'State but have not
gotten his reaction yet. Seth enabled us to meet at 'State many moons ago.

That’s cool. My grandfather gave me a tube tester too, he worked for
Westinghouse for decades. It’s also a hickock, but I’m not sure the

it in to a meeting for show and tell one of these days, before the
pandemic…

*Subject: *[TriEmbed] New toy....
I just added a new toy to my set of tools this weekend - a Hickock
model 800 tube tester. Just what I needed for the new tube-based IoT
devices... ;-)
Actually I have several old tube based Heathkit HW101 transceivers and
a Hammurland SP-600 receiver I want to restore, and a few other old
tube based AM radios that would be fun to restore.
I have been looking for one that was in good condition, complete,
supported a wide range of tubes and was cheap. Other than the price,
the rest of the requirements were met... ;-)
