Yes! My experience is that the footprints and symbols are often wrong from the UltraLibrarian and other symbol and footprint providers. I got one footprint for a 100mil through hole that had solder mask over the pads. Others were missing holes, etc.
I find that I prefer to build my own symbols and footprints using Altium and then find a 3D model of the part to verify the footprint. That is place a 3D model over the footprint and verify it fits.
